A pretty scenic country ride from a NEW RURAL starting location; The Manda Community Center.
NOTE I: Please don't BLOCK the community MAIL BOXES on the south side of the parking area !!
NOTE II: We'll start out riding north & east, then shortly after we ride through Coupland, we'll ride north on CR 456 over the "Old Truss Bridge" with 1.75 miles of gravel/hard packed dirt up to & after the bridge.
We'll cross the "Old Truss Bridge" at mile 9 & then we will ride east & north thru Noack (at mile 19), before heading south on CR 450 to pass by some spectacular Blue Bonnet fields between miles 23 - 25, just north of Structure, Texas.
We'll ride on some quiet country roads (some new & some we've ridden before, but in a different direction). I'm trying to note all the "BAD" roads on this route in the act/spirit of transparency ---- there is no extra charge for all these bad roads ---i.e. ride at your own risk !!
Only 1546 ft. of climbing---per RIDEwithGPS !
NOTE III: No rest room facilities at the Manda Community Center [but there is a BIG tree, looking kinda' dry right now, behind the Community Center for some ride start privacy !!]
This is a "B" paced "no-drop" ride. Please be able to maintain a 15.0 - 16.5 mph pace for 50 miles.
Leaving promptly at 8:00 AM. Maybe even "roll-out" at 7:58 !!
Only a LATE STORE STOP at mile 39 in Elgin (Citgo Station on S. Main St.)
NOTE III: Helmets are required on ALL rides..
NOTE IV: Please fill-out the riders paperless "waver" on the Bike Austin web, BEFORE you come to any Bike Austin Ride.
