Ride Description

Join us for a ride that goes west and northwest from the Peddler past RR 620 to Lime Creek Road and back (unless you are going on to Alaska). There is some urban riding, but most of the ride is in bike lanes or on quiet shady neighborhood streets. The first half of the ride is hilly with several short steep hills that may challenge riders unused to hills. Average speed will be 13-15 mph, but the group may go faster on flat straightaways. This is a no-drop ride and we will regroup at corners and hilltops as necessary. There will be a store stop (gas station) about halfway through the ride. At ~3miles from the finish, stop off at 2905 Dover Place for breakfast tacos and cake to celebrate the 70th birthday of Mark Takeuchi.

This is the regular Peddler to Alaska rides, but going to Balcones Dr and across 2222 in the beginning, avoiding construction barrels on Anderson Mill Rd and returning through the musical neighborhood back to Zepplin.  The changes add about 2 miles to the route.

Riders should bring helmets, spare tube, and emergency identification. Please leave headphones, earbuds, and loudspeakers at home.

Please arrive at least 5 minutes early for route briefing. We will leave promptly at the posted time.  Parking is available north of 51st on Duval and on the side streets around Duval. Please don't park in the alley behind the Peddler.
