Ride Description

Join us for this fun ride to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of William's Whipple Surgery.

Come along and ride as William rides his first half century ride distance since his surgery.last May (2018)!

We'll plan to offer 3 ride PACE categories, doing the same route & starting together at the same time/place:

"A"  paced led by Keith Benten----

"B"  paced led by Tom Via----

"C"  paced led by Maggie Valenti and Amy Gelfand---

We plan/hope to ALL ride together for the first 3-4 miles (to the corner of CR 132 & FM 3349) and then separate into the 3 pace groups noted above.

A new/old half century route in the relatively flat expanses of east Central Texas.   A nice Hutto ride going east and then south to visit the "Donkeys"  (at the 23 mile mark)--BRING some Donkey TREATS!!!.  Then heading west & north to the store stop in Coupland (at the 28 mile mark). We'll ride through the quiet farm/ranch lands of southeast Williamson County. We'll travel on some quiet country roads (some are "vintage" chip seal and a little bumpy---air up your ties accordingly!) doing a no-drop ride (for your ride pace), with re-grouping as needed at the next turn.

We have one STORE STOP in Coupland at 28 miles.
Total climbing is under 1535 ft. (per RIDEwithGPS)

NOTE I: We do not have maps of this route, but good Q-sheets will be provided and the RIDEwithGPS link is provided here for downloading.

NOTE II: Helmets are required on ALL Bike Austin rides.

Come with you & your equipment ready to ride 51 miles, in time to get signed-in and participate in the starter's meeting at 8:15 AM, for a prompt roll-out at 8:30 AM. .

If you are not familiar with our ride catagories; please see the following 2 sights to insure you are matched for this ride:

For all those interested (all are invited), we'll have choices for coffee, conversation, and/or lunch afterwards at:  Hutto's "Notorious" Texan Cafe, Chili's, Hippo Cafe, or the Rio Grande Tex-Mex restaurants.

Meet at Hutto's Fritz Park on the NE side of Hutto. From Hwy 79 in Hutto go north 0.25 miles on FM 1660 and turn right onto E. Live Oak St. Drive 0.2 miles and turn left into the parking lot (ride start map location attached).
Rest Rooms are open/available at Fritz Park.  We then have easy access to Hutto's bike path.

Check this posting ride day morning in case of a weather cancellation.
