A NEW route from a NEW ride start location: in Taylor, Texas !!
NOTE: If coming from the south, a suggestion would be to drive up to Taylor on FM 973 to view the HUGE Samsung Plant's construction site ---it's getting BIGGER every time we go by it !!!
Riding from the Pierce Skatepark , in Taylor, Texas: the rain is now forecasted to stop by 6:00 AM & good temp. & moderate winds, as we start out on a mostly north & east route, before turning south & west to return to the start location. We ride all the way around Granger Lake !
We'll be riding from Taylor, up to Granger: then east by the Granger Reservoir (the Granger Dam Road is currently closed) before peddling thru Laneport, Sandoval, & Thrall on our way back to Taylor.
A quiet scenic NEW route from Taylor's Pierce Skatepark. Riding on some "vintage" Williamson County chip-seal roads; so air up your tires accordingly.
This will be a "B-/C+" no-drop ride. Please come expecting/capable to ride at a 15.0 - 16.5 mph pace for 56 miles.
Leaving promptly at 8:30 AM. (Maybe even "roll-out" at 8:28 !)
QUICK STORE STOPS: at 18 miles (Granger) & 43 miles (Thrall)
Just 1504 ft. of climbing, per RIDEwithGPS.
Helmets required on ALL our rides.
Lunch after the ride at the Lucky Duck Cafe , located next to the skatepark? (It is The Good Luck Grills' sister eatery --- same menu !)
Please check this sight on the ride morning, before you leave home, for any possible cancellation.
